Pioneers Room
(3 – 4 years)
Our Pre-School
The Pioneers room is home to our pre-school children aged three to four years, representing the final stage of a child’s journey at Your Montessori in Iver Heath.
By this stage, children have already developed strong foundations of confidence and independence. In Pioneers we continue strengthening these skills within a fun, nurturing and structured classroom environment.
Our focus is helping children become school ready; while ensuring they continue to enjoy learning and exploring.
We embed our nursery’s golden rules, teaching children how to:
-
Treat their friends with kindness
-
Respect their environment
-
Look after resources
These early values help children thrive not only at nursery but throughout their future school and home life.
Independence is encouraged daily. Children help:
-
Set up mealtimes
-
Serve themselves food
-
Clear up after meals
These practical life skills are highly valued by both parents and local primary schools.
At this stage we also introduce:
-
Early phonics
-
Writing readiness
-
Storytelling and communication activities
Parents are encouraged to support learning at home through weekend diaries, helping children share experiences during circle time.
Children also take turns bringing home Monty the class teddy bear, giving them exciting stories to share with their friends.

Supporting a Smooth Transition to School
We are proud of our strong relationships with local primary schools in and around Iver Heath. During the Summer term we invite Reception teachers to visit our nursery so they can observe children in their familiar environment, helping create a smooth and confident transition into school.
Children from Your Montessori regularly move on to a variety of local schools, including:
-
Maltmans
-
Davenies
-
Eton End
-
Bishopsgate
-
Iver Heath Infant School
-
Iver Village Academy
-
Robertswood
-
Langley Heritage
Our support continues even after children leave us. During the Autumn term we check in with our
former pupils and their teachers to see how they are progressing.
We love receiving photos of children in their new school uniform and always enjoy welcoming them back to visit our nursery when they are passing by.
