We Know Every Child is Different

At Your Montessori Pre-school and Day Nursery in Iver Heath, we recognise that every child is unique. That’s why your child’s settling-in process is personal, thoughtful and carefully planned.

From the very beginning, our priority is to get to know not only your child, but your whole family. During your child’s first settling session — known as our “All About Me” meeting — you will meet your child’s dedicated key person. Together, we take time to understand:

• What your child enjoys and what they dislike

• Their food preferences and dietary requirements

• Their sleep routines and comforters

• Your family routines, expectations and any concerns

During your second settling session, we encourage you to leave your child with us for two hours. We understand this is a huge step in terms of separating from your child. We use the information gained from session one to make this as gentle as possible for parent and child. Take this time to go and grab a coffee and relax! 

Your final settling session lasts three hours. By now, we are getting to know your child and they are getting to know us. We try and incorporate a meal or snack into this session and possibly even a nap.

Your child will then start their full sessions with us and it's all systems go!
